Walking and hiking enthusiasts are excellently served by the cog-railway which climbs to the summit of the mountain “Rochers-de-Naye” (2’048m). This vantage point offers not only an exceptional view over the length of the lake and the Alps but also the chance to observe in close up the numerous marmots in their natural habitat. Other options are the alpine garden “ La Rambertia” and the walk up the quite strenuous “Via Ferrata”. The one hour journey “Montreux toRochers-de-Naye” offers plentiful stopping points with restaurants, culminating in the restaurant “Plein-Roc” at the summit.

Depending on the dates of your stay you will find numerous annual events (see the heading “Calendar events/Agenda), such as the unmissable Montreux Jazz Festival, the classical music “Septembre Musical” or the largest and fairytale Christmas Market in Switzerland, the “Marché de Noël”.
